Grant Writer or Grant Partner?

We’ve read thousands of grants and all of them require someone to write the grant. This is usually not a simple undertaking- the grant writer must know something about the business or non-profit they are writing for, and they must also know something of the grant source. Part of the grant writer’s task is to select grants that align both ends of the equation- the grantor and grantee objectives. It’s painstaking and often tedious but vital work that can make good things happen for both parties

A grants partner has considerably more scope than a 1099 contract as a grant writer. A grants partner goes way deeper into the short, mid-range, and long term objectives of the grantee. Grant partners have the business experience to help guide the grantee into which kinds of grants to apply for, and they consider other resources such as the two types of crowdfunding which may or may not be appropriate for the grantee. There is a “golden key” for crowdfunding, covered in a separate blog entitled: “The Golden Key of Crowdfunding”.

A grants partner, while usually not being an accountant, financial advisor, or lawyer, is well versed in accounting principles, tax law, cash flow, profit margins, and risk, among numerous other items vital to small businesses. A grants partner has usually operated a small business, or helped run both small and large corporate businesses. That kind of experience takes most of a decade to become fully conversant in a wide range of issues.

A grants partner also has a very deep and wide ecosystem of partners, associates, professionals, and acquaintances. A grants partner knows when and where to acquire almost any kind of professional support, and introductions into companies and customers.Give us a call. We can find, recommend, write, and manage your grants. And there’s more we can bring you. A lot more. We see grants not just as a onetime event, but a recurring source of expansion capital for businesses over multiple years that neatly fit into a coherent business growth strategy. We see and believe the same for non-profits, through applying the recurring principle to capital sustenance for expansion of services and resources. The role we seek play is that of a trusted advisor- a grants partner.

Warm Regards,

Neil Reid.
