What we do

Conduct Preliminary Search:The grant curation process involves a meticulous one to two-week research phase to identify potential candidate grants. Our Grant Acquisition Specialists (Researchers) utilize cutting-edge grant search and filtering software, customizing filters to align with the client’s entity status, mission, fiscal objectives, and desired timeline. Following the research phase, the Grant Acquisition Specialist thoughtfully selects the top three grant candidates and crafts a personalized presentation for the client. At this juncture, the first invoice will be submitted to the client by Grants For You.

Generate Candidate Sources Report: An organized and pre-scheduled 30–60-minute online meeting is facilitated between the Grant Acquisition Specialist (Researcher) and the client. This meeting serves to present and gain approval for the curated grant candidates.

Draft Grant Application(s): Upon client approval and satisfaction, the Grant Acquisition Specialist (Researcher) seamlessly connects the client with their designated Grant Development Specialist (Writer). The grant writer assumes responsibility for curating, writing, and completing the grant applications.

Submit Grant Application(s) – Crafting a grant application is a meticulous process, spanning three to six weeks. Your Grant Development Specialist is a catalyst for positive change through strategic grant writing, excelling in the creation of compelling proposals. Devoted to each proposal, they transform it from a mere document into a strategic roadmap for your organization’s growth and success. Once the drafts of the grant applications are finalized and approved by the client, the Grant Development Specialist (Grant Writer) ensures timely submission before the foundation’s stipulated deadline. It is at this point that Grants For You issues the second invoice to the client.

Monitor Progress to Award: We keep our clients informed by providing transparent tracking and reporting of the grant application status. It’s important to note that funding sources may enter a period of limited communication, commonly referred to as “going dark,” between the grant application and the Notice of Award (NoA) dates. Additionally, funders often disclose dates for pre-award or additional competition rounds during the application process.

Fulfill Post-Award Reporting: The NoA typically outlines reporting requirements. For organizations receiving more than $25,000 from the federal government, the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA) mandates reporting. If 80% or more of the prior year’s annual gross revenues come from federal awards, reports may include the following:

  • Annual Federal Financial Report (FFR)
  • Progress Reports (quarterly to annually)
  • Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA)
  • Federal Awardee Performance and Integrity Information System (FAPIIS)

The grant application includes line-item expenses for Grants For You and other professional entities to facilitate and support the reporting process. The reporting factor, integral to our candidate fund selection process, grows in complexity, type, and frequency as funding amounts increase from under $25,000 to over $1 million.

Grants for Non-Profits vs For-Profits

The funding processes for non-profits and businesses follow a similar sequence but come with distinct qualifications. It’s crucial to note that Foundations generally prefer funding entities with a 501c3 tax status, valuing their longstanding community presence and active charitable engagement. For entities without a 501c3 status, the pool of grant candidates is often smaller, as eligibility is determined by factors such as years in business, total income, and the socio-economic, ethnic, or sexual orientation of the business founder.

The Big Picture

A considerable pool of grant funding is readily accessible, providing financial support to organizations without the burden of repayment, interest charges, or equity involvement. These grants, bestowed upon organizations with preferred tax statuses, serve diverse purposes such as technology development, charitable contributions expansion, capital project execution, and overall business growth.

The grant landscape boasts over 28,000 opportunities consolidated into a single site, with approximately 40 new major grants emerging daily. The federal government alone allocates an annual budget exceeding $500 billion to grants, highlighting their significant role, surpassed only by Social Security and Defense in federal budget allocations.

At Grants For You, our commitment lies in the efficient sourcing, application, and tracking of funds that align with your entity’s qualifications and objectives. By navigating this expansive landscape, we aim to streamline the path to funding, allowing your entity to concentrate on day-to-day operations with minimal distraction.
